So for installing the consent mode with google tag manager, here we are using the Enzuzo Cookie Manager Template. So let’s go ahead:

Step 1: Let’s create the template

Navigate to the “Template” section and click on “New”.

Step 2: Download Template

As of now, download the template given by them and click on “Import” section. The file(template.tpl) that you downloaded, upload it. Then press ‘Save’.

Step 3: Navigate to the Tag Section

Click on ‘Tag’ and click on ‘New’.

Step 4: Configure the Tag

Now, select the “Enzuzo Cookie Manager” tag and add the Enzuzo Script URL. You will get the Script URL from the Enzuzo Website. To find the URL click on the “Cookie Consent” -> “Add to Website”.

Step 5: Configure the Trigger

Navigate to the ‘Trigger’ section and click on ‘New’ and select the Consent- Initialization trigger.

Step 6: Add Services of Google Tag Manager

Navigate to the Enzuzo website. In the cookie manager settings -> Cookie Consent -> Manage Cookies -> Click on ‘+’ sign and add the entry to Google Tag Manager.

Step 7: Set up Cookie Banner with Custom HTML tag

Navigate to the ‘Tag’ section -> click on ‘New’ -> Create Custom HTML tag.

Step 8: Configure the custom HTML tag

Now, add the code into the HTML tag. Select the Support documen.write checkbox. Additionally, under the Tag firing section select the ‘once per page’.

Step 9: Configure the Trigger

Navigate to the ‘Trigger’ section -> click on ‘New’ -> select the ‘DOM Ready’ -> Choose the option ‘All DOM Ready Event’.

Step 10: Create the Consent Update trigger

If you created the GA4 event, so create the custom event trigger. Navigate to the ‘Trigger’ section -> click on ‘New’ -> select the ‘custom event’ trigger -> set event name as ‘enzuzo_consent_update’ -> select choice ‘All Custom Events -> Save the trigger.

Step 11: Test and Publish the GTM

Let’s check how consent banner is working or not. You will allow all cookies button then you will see the cookies into the developer tool. For checking the developer tools, right click on ‘Inspect’ -> select the ‘Application’ tab -> select the ‘Cookie’ section -> you will see the cookie.
